Dear Mr. Brende,
I came across a review of your book "Better Off: Flipping the Switch on Technology" and I wonder if I may be able to request a review copy if not from you, then from someone from HarperCollins? If the latter, would you mind providing me a name and email address please?
I am editor-in-chief of HealthToday, a health magazine published in Southeast Asia and concurrently, a communication specialist/consultant for the Asian Development Bank.
I believe your book would make an interesting excerpt in our publication, and at the same time, might be useful for the Asian Environment Outlook 2005 that we are currently preparing at the ADB.
Would be truly grateful if you could send the book to:

Just finished your book - wish I would have known you are a bridge player when you lived in Hermann! I would now take much more advantage of you and Mary's expertise on minimalizing technology! Will give you a call next time we are in the city.
I work for NBC4 in Washington DC, and I'm putting together a story on people addicted to technology. I stumbled upon your book while researching and remembered it from the initial release. If you are in our area at all, we'd love to talk with you for our story. I know it's a long shot, but you never know ...
The funny thing is that I the day I started reading it - my cell phone broke - spent nearly 3 hours getting it fixed. While I waited for the repairs to be done I read most of the first section of the book and then in to the start of the second.
I think it time to cut back. I have for a long time wanted to experience what you and Mary did in the book, and from what I have heard... still love very much. Simpler is better. Oh... I grew up in Topeka also.
loved the book! i cant seem to find the swing handle washer that you talked about. we are about to move and this would be the perfect time to switch over. thanks for any info.
A friend just told me about your book. I haven't read it yet, but plan to. She said you spent some time living in a "mixed community" and learning to live more simply. For years I have wanted to be involved with a sustainable community and am researching possibilities now. Could you give me any information about places to check out?
